Bio for Beth Williams
My passion for nutrition started when I became pregnant with my first baby and began to read about breastfeeding. I was an elementary schoolteacher then, and spent my leisure time reading about nutrition.
Looking for a change in my professional life, and needing to work in a field that is exciting as well as rewarding, I made the decision to change careers.
I attended the University of Maine, earning a Master's Degree in food science and human nutrition. While there, I met a number of amazing people, including women who have become my models for healthy aging.
Following graduation, I worked at the Maine Nutrition Network and as a school health coordinator before going into private practice as a nutrition consultant. As part of my practice, I serve as Hannaford Supermarkets' online dietitian.
I'm married, the mother of three grown children, and the grandmother of eight, ages 1 to 6. Weight management is a challenge for me, as it is for so many people, and my family keeps me very busy.
To stay healthy and fit, I focus on good nutrition and getting regular exercise with the simple goal of staying well and being happy.
