  1. What is the Guiding Stars program?
  2. Hannaford worked with Nutrition experts throughout the country to develop an easy-to-use navigation system that helps you find foods throughout our stores that give you the most nutrition for the calories. Click here for more information about this great program!

  3. What other services do you provide to consumers who have specific dietary concerns?
  4. We understand that many of our customers have specific dietary needs. Browse the "Healthy Living" section of our website to get diet and nutrition tips, as well as other ideas to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, we offer the following services to support your individual wellbeing:

    In-Store Nutrition Coordinators: We currently have 30 stores with highly qualified, energetic, registered and certified dieticians who teach our customers about nutritious eating. They lead individuals and community groups on healthy store tours, sample products on the sales floor, teach nutrition classes in the store, and participate in community wellness events, including activities in partnership with organizations such as American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.

    Ask the Nutritionist: Contact our Nutritionist, Beth Williams to get answers to questions about diet, nutrition, and other wellness related topics; such as healthy eating tips, understanding food labels/portions, healthy lifestyle tips, and medication/food interactions.     MyHannaford: Click here to learn about MyHannaford, an on-line service that allows you to view a list of in-store items, see the guiding star rating for each item, and select nutrition preferences or screen out food allergens as you customize a shopping list to meet your needs.

  5. Can you provide me with a list of products that support my specific diet needs?
  6. We work with many different suppliers and carry a wide variety of private and national brand products. Our in-store product mix continuously changes, primarily driven by new product offerings and consumer demand; therefore, it is very difficult to create and maintain a current and accurate list of the products we sell.

    To ensure that we are providing our customers with up-to-date information, we encourage you to contact the Customer Information Center when you have a question about any product we offer. We can research your question and respond to you sooner if you can provide us with the UPC (Universal Product Code) number located on the product.

    Additionally, we have Nutrition Coordinators available in select Hannaford stores located throughout our marketing areas. These registered or certified dietitians offer store tours designed to educate our customers about the foods we offer, and help them understand how to read nutrition and ingredient information on labels. They also offer FREE nutrition classes across New England, designed to help you eat better and live a more healthful life. The classes are fun and interactive - and come with food samples to give you an idea of how delicious healthy eating can be! Click here for a list of classes in your area.
