Cashew Cheese Sauce

Thanks to  for sharing this recipe with our team!Numerous additions can be added to this versatile sauce as it heats up in the pan. Try adding picante sauce, chopped jalapeños, diced green chilies, a pinch of cayenne, cumin, or your favorite hot sauce.
2 cups raw cashews
1 (6 oz.) jar roasted red pepper, drained
1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. salt
2 cups water
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Cashew Cheese Sauce

Directions

1. Soak cashews for at least a half an hour or overnight.
2. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. Add water, as needed to obtain desired thickness.
3. Pour into a saucepan and heat on medium until thickened, stirring often with a whisk (5 minutes).
