Caution: Sodium Chloride (salt) may be harmful when used in excess or repeatedly on concrete surfaces. (It lowers the freezing point and increases the number of freeze/thaw cycles.) Flaking, chipping or scaling of the surface may result, due to the expansion of water when it freezes. Especially vulnerable surfaces include poorly constructed, porous concrete and mortar joints between brick or flagstone. Excessive de-icing salt may be harmful to vegetation. Keep this product away from shrubs, trees, flower beds and grass. Do not spread on unseasoned concrete less than one year old. Concrete should also be air entrained or treated.
