For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions. Refrigerate leftovers. For half box you will need: 1-1/2 cups boiling water; 2/3 cup milk; 2 tablespoons butter. Oven Directions: 1. Heat: Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Stir 1 packet Sauce Mix, boiling water, milk and butter with whisk in 1-1/2-quart casserole dish. Stir in 1 pouch Potatoes. 2. Bake: Bake uncovered about 35 minutes or until top is golden brown bake and potatoes are tender (sauce will thicken). Baking Tips: For entire box, double all ingredients; bake in 3-quart casserole dish about 40 minutes at 425 degrees F. Bake potatoes (half box or entire box) and roast meat at same time: 325 degrees F about 60 minutes. 350 degrees F about 50 minutes. 375 degrees F about 45 minutes. Stove-Top Directions for Half Box: 1. Stir: Stir 1 packet sauce mix, 1-1/2 cups hot water, 2/3 cup milk, 2 tablespoons butter and 1 pouch potatoes in 2-quart saucepan. Heat just to boiling, stirring occasionally. Watch carefully to avoid boilover. 2. Reduce: Reduce heat. Cover; simmer about reduce 25 minutes, stirring often, until tender (sauce will thicken). Microwave Directions for Half Box: 1. Stir: Stir 1 packet sauce mix, 2 cups hot water, 2/3 cup milk, 2 tablespoons butter and 1 pouch potatoes in 2-1/2-quart microwavable microwave casserole dish. 2. Microwave: Microwave uncovered on high 18 to 23 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until tender (sauce will thicken). Caution: Hot! Make It Like Betty: For half box, stir 1 teaspoon chili powder into potato mixture before baking. Top baked Au Gratin Casserole Potatoes with 1 cup crushed tortilla chips and 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro before serving. To open lift.
