Directions

Vegan Bacon Bits: 2 tbsp soy sauce. 2 tbsp molasses. 2 tbsp liquid smoke. 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil. 1 tbsp cider vinegar. 3 cups bob's red mill coconut flakes. Preheat oven to 325 degrees f. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon pad, or spray with nonstick spray. Whisk together soy sauce, molasses, liquid smoke, olive oil and vinegar. Add coconut flakes and mix well. Let sit for 10 minutes or until the coconut absorbs all the liquid. Spread coconut in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees f until deeply toasted, about 15-20 minutes. Stir often, about every 3 minutes. Let "Bacon" bits cool completely, then store in an airtight container. Makes 3 cups. Store in a cool, dry place. Keeps best sealed for freshness. Tear here to open.
