Cooking Directions on the Stove: 1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. 2. Stir in rice*. 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until all water is absorbed. * Cooking Measurement Chart: 1 cup rice; 2 1/2 cups water; Makes: 3 1/2 cups; 5 servings (3/4 cup cooked). 2 cups rice; 5 cups water; Makes: 7 cups; 9 servings (3/4 cup cooked). 3 cups rice; 7 1/2 cups water; Makes: 10 1/2 cups; 14 servings (3/4 cup cooked). For drier rice use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water. Cooking Directions in the Microwave**: 1. In a 2 1/2 quart microwave-safe dish, combine 3 cups of water and 1 cup of rice*. 2. Microwave uncovered on high for 10 minutes. Reduce the setting to 50% power; microwave uncovered for 20 minutes. Let it stand for 5 minutes. ** Add 1 Tbsp butter and 1 tsp salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired. It is recommended that only 1 cup of rice be prepared in the microwave at a time.
