After being served, the diner complained that the potato slices were soggy and too thick sending them back to the cook, George Crum. Upset at someone would criticize his cooking, Crum sliced a new batch of potatoes paper-thin, fried them in boiling oil until crispy then lightly salted them. But, what was intended a stunt, turned into an instant hit, forever known as Original Saratoga Chips for over 160 years! Saratoga Chips use only Mountain Pure Pink Himalayan Salt, which is considered to be one of the purest salts on the planet.
