Hannaford opens stores in Newport and Dexter

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Hannaford Supermarkets today opened its newest locations, after completing the purchase of Bud's Shop 'n Save stores in Newport and Dexter.

Also today, the company announced that it has agreed to purchase the assets of the pharmacies at those two locations from Community Pharmacies and will open a Hannaford Pharmacy in each store in late December.  Community Pharmacies will continue to operate those two locations until transfer, ensuring that there is no disruption in service.

"Hannaford is an engaged partner in every community we serve, and all of us are excited to be operating stores now in Newport and Dexter," said Director of Operations Todd Bullen.  "We encourage everyone to come see the low everyday prices, great fresh food and wide variety of products available at their Newport and Dexter Hannaford supermarkets."

The Newport location, Newport Plaza at 44 Moosehead Trail, is a 32,600-square-foot store. The Dexter location, 37 Church Street, is a 24,500-square-foot store.
