Hannaford Supermarkets acquires Community Pharmacy in Blue Hill
 
BLUE HILL, Maine – Hannaford Supermarkets has reached an agreement to purchase Community Pharmacy in Blue Hill. The pharmacy, which is located inside the new Hannaford store formerly operated as Tradewinds Marketplace, will begin serving customers under the Hannaford banner on Monday, June 12.
 
Community Pharmacy in Blue Hill, located at 15 South Street, will close on Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. Hannaford will reopen the pharmacy on Monday, June 12 at 8 a.m.
 
Hannaford is purchasing the business from Joe Bruno, owner of Community Pharmacies, which has served customers from its location in Blue Hill for 17 years. Bruno will retain ownership of Community Pharmacies’ eight other locations. Community Pharmacies began operations in 1998.

Under the Hannaford banner, the Blue Hill pharmacy will be open the same hours as previously: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays. Hannaford’s in-store pharmacies provide a convenient and affordable solution to maintain good health for the entire family, including pets, with healthcare professionals available to answer questions with expertise and care.
 
The Blue Hill pharmacy will employ seven associates, all of whom will make the transition from the Community Pharmacy team to Hannaford.

Hannaford pharmacies offer same-day delivery, curbside pickup and mailing for prescriptions, as well as easy and convenient refills. Immunizations for Covid-19, flu, shingles and pneumonia, amongst others, are conveniently available and can be scheduled in advance online.

The Blue Hill Community Pharmacy acquisition follows the formal opening of Hannaford’s newest store in Blue Hill, which the retailer purchased from the owners of Tradewinds Marketplace earlier this year.
