Hannaford Supermarkets to acquire Paradis Shop ’n Save Supermarkets in Fort Kent and Madawaska
 
SCARBOROUGH, Maine –Hannaford Supermarkets today announced plans to acquire the Paradis Shop ‘n Save Supermarkets locations in Fort Kent and Madawaska. The stores are anticipated to begin operating under the Hannaford banner in spring 2024.  
 
The acquisition will mark the culmination of a longstanding relationship between Hannaford and the Paradis family, who have served the community for nearly 80 years since first opening the business in 1947. While formerly independently-owned and operated, Paradis Shop ‘n Save Supermarkets are supplied and supported by Hannaford.

Under the Hannaford banner, the Fort Kent and Madawaska stores will continue to offer the fresh food for which Hannaford is known, including unique store-brand offerings such as Taste of Inspirations, Hannaford and Nature’s Promise, as well as an expansive selection of products from local farms and producers. Customers will also enjoy My Hannaford Rewards, a program that allows members to earn a two percent reward on all private brand purchases and receive personalized coupons.

The acquisition of the Fort Kent and Madawaska stores will bring the total number of Hannaford locations to 189, including 68 in Maine. Hannaford Supermarkets was founded in Portland in 1883 and is headquartered in Scarborough, Maine.
