Celebration planned for East Greenbush Hannaford

The East Greenbush Hannaford Supermarket will host a Grand Reopening event on Saturday, June 16 to celebrate the completion of a renovation project that introduced a wide range of improvements, including hundreds of new items, online grocery ordering and a Kitchen for fresh-made meals.

The supermarket has added 500 organic and natural products, and introduced many more products that make meal planning and snack decisions simple.  These include fresh-made stir fry and other options from the grill; in-store made sandwiches; snack trays; hot-food bar; expanded salad and olive bars; and sushi.  Grab-and-go seafood and new ready-to-cook entrees from the butcher shop make cooking dinner easy.

Customers also may now order their groceries online through Hannaford To Go.  Store associates assemble the items and bring groceries to the customer’s car when they arrive.

What: East Greenbush Hannaford Grand Reopening Celebration
When: Saturday, June 16, starting at 7 a.m.
Where: 596 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, N.Y.
Details: The first 200 customers will receive gift cards randomly valued between $5 and $250; product sampling; sweepstakes; and other activities.

“Customers are really surprised by how many new choices and convenient options we have added for them,” said Store Manager Bill Marinello. “With a great new design to our Produce and Bakery departments, and a fresh new look inside and out, the East Greenbush Hannaford has been transformed.  It’s a beautiful, well-designed store, for shoppers who are there to browse or grab what they need quickly.”

The store will mark its 30th year in East Greenbush during the same week as the Grand Reopening event.

In conjunction with the Grand Reopening, Hannaford will be donating $2,000 each to three local charities: Tri-County Vietnam Era Veterans, for their work with homeless veterans; Capital Region Miracle League, for their baseball field that is accessible to people with disabilities; and Faith & Love Fellowship Food Pantry.

“We hope that everyone will come see all that their new East Greenbush Hannaford has to offer,” Marinello said.
