Hannaford Donates $100,000 to YMCA of Southern Maine
On presenting the donation check to YMCA of Southern Maine CEO Helen L Breña, Hannaford Vice President of Marketing Mary Wright said the services and programs offered by the Y fit well with what Hannaford tries to achieve through its support of community organizations.
“Along with hunger relief, Hannaford Supermarkets focuses its charitable giving on programs that help people live healthier lives and assist children in reaching their full potential – areas at which the YMCA of Southern Maine excels," Wright said. "By partnering with the YMCA we know that we are helping our neighbors and our entire community to thrive.”
Breña said Hannaford's donation came at a time when the YMCA is seeing an increasing need for its services and programs.
“The Y couldn’t be more thankful. We are committed to serving all, regardless of financial ability. This year we are seeing a greater and greater need in all of the communities we serve. Thanks to the generosity of Hannaford, we can still serve all,” said Breña.
