Mechanic Falls Hannaford to host Grand Opening
Community event will offer customers a chance to experience their new full-service grocery store and pharmacy, celebrate new location
Mechanic Falls, Maine – Residents of the Mechanic Falls and Poland area will have access to a full-service supermarket and pharmacy, with all the fresh and packaged groceries they need, at a convenient location beginning Saturday, July 28.
To celebrate, Hannaford is hosting a Grand Opening event beginning at 7 a.m., with door prizes, food sampling and other activities. The store itself will offer a full range grocery items – more than 16,000 products in total -- and access to all the prescription medication customers need.
“The Mechanic Falls Hannaford will offer customers the great local products, fresh food, friendly service and everyday low prices that customers expect from Hannaford, right here in Mechanic Falls,” said Store Manager Julia Bernard.

Where: 28 Pigeon Hill Road (intersection of Routes 26 and 11) in Mechanic Falls
Highlights: First 200 customers will receive gift cards randomly valued between $5 and $250; sampling of locally grown and produced food; coupons; door prizes; sweepstakes; and other activities.

The 20,000-square-foot store will feature a full-service deli, hand-crafted sandwiches and salads made on site daily, a beer cave and many other amenities. In-Store cut fruit, hand crafted sections in our meat department. The store will carry local products from Maine farmers and producers such as Pineland Farms in New Gloucester; EW Mailhot Sausage in Lewiston; Maine Family Farm Meats in Portland; and Lucarelli’s Bread and Rolls in Livermore Falls.
The full-service pharmacy will provide customers a private consultation room, where they can talk privately with their pharmacist about medication or receive an immunization.
The store will employ between 80 to 100 full- and part-time associates. Hannaford is a committed community partner in every community served.
Founded in Portland by Maine farmers in 1883, Hannaford will operate 63 supermarkets statewide with the opening of its Mechanic Falls location. Every Hannaford store donates rescued food to local hunger relief, and regularly supports local charities and schools.
