Scarborough Hannaford to host celebration
The Scarborough Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy will host a Grand Reopening event on Saturday, Sept. 29 to celebrate the completion of a renovation project that introduced a wide range of improvements, including online grocery ordering and a Kitchen for fresh-made meals.
The supermarket has added many products that make meal planning and snack decisions simple. These include fresh-made stir fry, breakfast sandwiches and other options, such as hand-battered fried chicken and a hot-food bar. The store has doubled the size of its sushi offering and greatly increased its selection of specialty cheeses.
The Scarborough Hannaford now also offers shoppers a Café with ample seating, where customers can relax and enjoy fresh-made food. Pharmacy customers have access to a new consultation room where they can receive immunizations or talk confidentially about their prescription medicine concerns.
Busy customers may order their groceries online through Hannaford To Go. Store associates assemble the items and bring groceries to the customer’s car when they arrive.

“The store has a wonderful atmosphere with a completely different look for each of our fresh departments, new décor throughout the supermarket and equipment that is more environmentally sustainable and efficient,” said Store Manager Barrett Johnson. “Our new Scarborough Hannaford also offers customers many more grab-and-go items and options for shoppers who want to eat a meal right at the store.”
In celebration of the Grand Reopening, Hannaford will be donating $5,000 to community organizations.
