Consumer Notice: Ground Beef Withdrawn from Chelmsford Hannaford store
The Hannaford store in Chelmsford, Mass. is advising consumers to return packages of 80 percent lean ground beef purchased today because of risk that glass fragments could be in the item. Clean-up of the work area this afternoon indicated that glass fragments from a broken measuring cup could have gotten into ground beef made at store.
In an abundance of caution, Hannaford in Chelmsford is alerting customers of that store about the following item:
80 percent ground beef sold today and with a "sell-by date" of April 1 should be returned to the Chelmsford Hannaford for a full refund.
These items were removed from the shelves Friday. Any customer who purchased the item should not consume it.
There are no reports of material having been found in the product or any injuries. The store is seeking returns on approximately 30 pounds of product that were sold Friday.
