Application and Criteria
Please review the following criteria before applying:
- Organizations that impact one or more of these focus areas will be considered for funding:
- Health & Wellness (as it relates to nutrition)
- Child & Family Development
- Hunger Relief
- Hannaford limits community support to the five states where we operate: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.
- All donation and sponsorship requests must be submitted through our online application form (see "Apply Now" link below). Requests received through U.S. mail, fax or email will not be considered.
- All applications must be received at least eight (8) weeks prior to the date that funds are needed. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email acknowledgment to let you know that it has been received.
- Organizations are limited to one (1) sponsorship or donation request per calendar year.
- Please be patient and allow us up to 3 weeks to respond. We receive a lot of requests and carefully consider all of them. We will reply via email to the individual listed as the contact in your request.
- Unfortunately, we cannot support all requests. Please read the "Requests We Are Unable to Accommodate" section below and review the information before submitting a request.
Requests We Are Unable to Accommodate
While we would love to support all requests that we receive, there are some that we cannot, including:
- Golf tournaments.
- Organizations that focus on the arts. However, programs that address immediate needs in local communities will be considered.
- Solicitation and distribution activities on our premises by any community organizations.
- Fundraisers benefiting specific individuals or families. We focus support on nonprofit agency programs that provide assistance to people in need.
- Requests from faith-based agencies for religious purposes. However, we will consider funding programs offered by faith-based organizations that support all members of the community.
- Educational scholarships for individuals.
- Foundations and other organizations that collect donations to distribute. We prefer to make our donations directly to local organizations.
- Professional development seminars and conferences.
- Lobbying or political activities.
- Travel expenses.
- Sports teams.
- Pageants.
- Private clubs.
- Any organization or event outside our marketing areas, including national or international organizations.
- Events defined as galas, carnivals, festivals, fairs, etc.
- Fulfilling pledges of others.
- Employee recognition events.
