Hannaford Supermarkets celebrates grand re-opening of Albany store

ALBANY, New York – Hannaford Supermarkets will unveil a series of renovations and improvements to its Albany store located at 900 Central Avenue with a grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, June 15 at 7 a.m.

 

The store renovations are geared toward creating a better overall shopping experience for Hannaford customers by updating store décor and expanding product variety in the store’s ethnic, dairy, frozen and organic/natural and gluten-free offerings.

 

“Hannaford Supermarkets is honored to bring our signature combination of everyday low prices, quality foods and outstanding service to residents throughout the Capital Region,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Albany Store Manager Dave Farrell. “I encourage the Albany community to join us as we celebrate the grand re-opening of our store. We look forward to showing shoppers the results of what we have been working on.”

 

The updated store features a new iceless seafood counter and a re-designed butcher shop. It will also offer in-store sushi and a new chicken wing bar, featuring hot, ready-made wings. Additionally, a faster and more efficient check-out system will be in place.

Albany Hannaford store nutritionist Monique Boulet will be available to provide tips on nutrition, healthy eating and recipe ideas. A full schedule of free upcoming in-store nutrition classes and demonstrations will be available for shoppers.

 

On Saturday, June 15, the first 300 customers through the doors beginning at 7 a.m. will each receive a Hannaford mystery gift card

valued anywhere between $5 and $250. Shoppers will enjoy giveaways and samplings throughout the store.

 

Shoppers can enter to win free Hannaford gift cards during the grand re-opening celebration. The grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 Hannaford gift card and will be selected by random drawing on July 28. Thirty second-prize winners will receive a $25 Hannaford gift card. One second-prize winner will be selected by random drawing each day between June 15 and July 27.

 

The grand re-opening celebration will continue throughout the months of June and July with a series of special offerings for shoppers, including giveaways, events and product samples.

 

On Saturday, June 29, Hannaford will host a Customer and Community Appreciation Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In recognition of the grand re-opening, representatives from Hannaford will present a $1,000 donation to both the Mater Christi School and Blessed Sacrament Food Pantry.

 

On Saturday, July 13, Hannaford will host a Health and Wellness Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers will have the opportunity to receive a free health screening at the Hannaford in-store pharmacy.

 

The Albany store is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
