Hannaford Supermarkets celebrates grand re-opening of Niskayuna store
Grand re-opening coincides with 25th anniversary of Hannaford in New York
NISKAYUNA, New York – Hannaford Supermarkets will unveil a series of renovations and improvements to its Niskayuna store located at 3333 Consaul Road with a grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, November 3 at 7 a.m.
The Niskayuna store renovations are geared toward creating a better overall shopping experience for Hannaford customers by expanding product variety in the store’s natural, organic, gluten-free and deli offerings; adding new chicken wing and sushi bars; updating store décor; and offering shoppers a faster checkout system.
The grand re-opening of the Niskayuna location coincides with the 25th anniversary of Hannaford Supermarkets in New York. On November 2, 1987, Hannaford opened its first New York store at 190 Quaker Road in Queensbury. Hannaford has since opened 48 additional stores in the Greater Capital Region, Hudson Valley and Utica area, bringing its total number of stores in New York to 49.
“Hannaford Supermarkets is honored to bring our signature combination of everyday low prices, quality foods and outstanding service to residents throughout the Capital Region,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Niskayuna Store Manager Linda Costanzo. “I encourage the Niskayuna community to join us as we celebrate the grand re-opening of our store during a special time for Hannaford in New York. We look forward to showing shoppers the results of what we have been working on.”
The remodeled store will also offer shoppers a wide variety of freshly-prepared meal options, including fresh sushi prepared daily on-site by a sushi chef; a wing bar with an assortment of chicken wings; as well as affordable and easy-to-prepare meals from the Fresh Meals in Minutes section in the meat department.
The store will also provide consumers with access to a Hannaford nutritionist for free classes and nutrition demonstrations on a variety of diet and nutrition topics, including eating tips for a healthy lifestyle; special dietary needs; understanding food labels; and portion control. Shoppers will receive nutritious samples, recipe ideas, coupons and fun food facts. A full listing of in-store healthy educational demos is available at hannaford.com.
Additionally, the store renovation will introduce a new bagging system and front end registers for fast and accurate service, with self-scanners available for smaller orders. The pharmacy will also feature a drive-thru window for customer convenience.
Events and activities to celebrate the Hannaford Niskayuna grand re-opening
The celebration will begin on Saturday, November 3 when the first 300 customers through the doors will each receive a Hannaford mystery gift card valued anywhere between $5 and $250.
Shoppers can also enter the Feed Yourself and Someone Else for the Holidays Sweepstakes during the grand-reopening celebration. The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 worth of Hannaford gift cards and will have the opportunity to select one of the following community organizations to also receive $1,000 in Hannaford gift cards: Concerned for the Hungry; Schenectady Boys & Girls Club; or the Stanford Heights Fire District. Two first prize winners will each receive $250 gift cards and a match to the organization of their choice and five second prize winners will each receive a $100 Hannaford gift card and a match to the organization of their choice.
