To a medium saucepan, add the apple cider, cinnamon stick, and ground cloves. Bring to a boil on medium-high, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep 5 minutes.
Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain mixture into a large measuring cup. Wipe out saucepan and pour the chai-der back in to reheat on medium. Ladle chai-der into 2 mugs. Stir 1 teaspoon honey into each mug for a little more sweetness, if desired. Serve hot with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
TIP Make a dirty chai by adding a shot of espresso. Make an Irish chai by adding a shot of whiskey.
