Spiced Port Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
Give classic cranberry sauce a showstopping upgrade by adding rich, intensely fruity port wine. You can make the sauce ahead and reheat before serving.
1 orange
1 (12-oz.) bag fresh cranberries
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup ruby port
1 cinnamon stick
1/8 tsp. salt

Spiced Port Cranberry Sauce

directions
Peel orange with a vegetable peeler and slice peel into thin strips. Juice orange and add juice to a saucepan along with cranberries and peel. Add sugar, port, cinnamon and salt. Simmer over low heat until cranberries pop and sauce thickens, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes.
Transfer sauce to a bowl and let cool slightly before removing cinnamon stick. Chill, covered, until ready to serve.
